The Institute for Latin Letters conducts courses in the Latin language, literature and ancient Roman history and culture, from elementary to advanced levels for scholars.
Every summer, our College of Fellows conducts intensive residential and non-residential courses in Latin at our campus in Fourneaux, France.
The Institute for Latin Letters also conducts semester courses, tutorials and workshops throughout the academic year with intensive courses in the summer for undergraduate and graduate students, faculty and visiting scholars in Turin, Italy. All of the courses are taught in English.
The Institute for Latin Letters offers the following certificates and diplomas for the successful completion of courses:
Certificate in Latin (requires one year of Latin studies
Classics Diploma in Latin Language and Letters (requires two years of Latin studies)
Undergraduate Diploma in Latin Language and Letters (requires two years of College Level Latin)*
Graduate Diploma in Latin Language and Letters (requires one year of Graduate Level Latin)
Graduate Diploma in Latin and Ancient Roman Civilization (requires one year of Graduate Level Latin)
The above certificates and diplomas may be awarded with honors (cum laude, magna cum laude, summa cum laude) and indicate the level of expertise.
* The Undergraduate Diploma in Latin Language and Letters is available to advanced high school students who reach college level competency in Latin Language and translating its literature.
